Character Fun

Emma’s phone connected to Character Fun.

What is it?

An AI character app for conversations and storytelling.

Why might it matter?

It can be a creative outlet. It’s worth understanding how your child thinks about AI friends.

A way to start a conversation
“What do you like about the characters?”

We see connections to the service.
We can’t read her conversations.

Curiosity before conclusions

A connection doesn’t tell us what Emma did inside the app. Apps can also make connections in the background. This alone doesn’t mean something is wrong.

What you might talk about

With an AI character app like this fictional example, you might ask about storytelling, what information to keep private, and whether characters ever give advice that feels confusing.

  • “What kinds of stories do you make?”
  • “Do the characters ever say things that surprise you?”

You may decide no action is needed. You know your child; this is a starting point.

You don’t have to keep up with the entire internet

Just the part that’s becoming
part of their world.

You can’t research an app you’ve never heard of. And you can’t ask about a change you haven’t noticed. Easy Family Filter helps bring those things into view.

From a quiet signal to a useful conversation

We help you notice.
You take it from there.

01

We notice.

A new service appears. A familiar one shows up more often. We look for meaningful changes in the connections your child’s device makes.

“Something new showed up this week.”
02

We explain.

Your weekly briefing turns those signals into context: what the service is, constructive uses, possible concerns, and what not to assume.

“Here’s what it is. Here’s why you may care.”
03

You decide.

Start with a useful question. Set a boundary if needed. Or simply feel a little better informed. No action may be necessary.

“What do you like about it?”

A weekly moment to catch up. No daily dashboard habit required.

Awareness without surveillance

Room for you to parent.
Room for them to be themselves.

Staying involved shouldn’t require reading every conversation. You get context to approach your child with understanding. They keep a meaningful space for privacy.

Understand what’s visible
What comes into view

“This service appeared on their device.”

Services the device connected to, changes over time, and whether your filtering rules allowed or blocked a connection.

What stays private

Their words. Their conversations.

We don’t read messages, searches, or content inside apps. Connections don’t tell us intent, screen time, or the whole story.

Understanding above. Protection underneath.

And the boundaries
you choose? Still there.

Block pornography, gambling, known malicious domains, trackers, analytics, and many common ads. Start with family-wide defaults, then adjust categories or individual websites for each device.

Safe Search and filtering work alongside your weekly briefing. Set up each supported device to carry your family’s boundaries across home Wi-Fi, mobile data, and other networks.

Common questions

Know what you’re choosing.

Clear answers about protection, privacy, setup, and visibility.

What will my weekly briefing tell me?

It brings together meaningful changes in the services appearing on your family’s devices, context about unfamiliar services, and guidance for a conversation. When no well-supported changes stand out, the briefing can simply say things look steady. You don’t need to review a dashboard every day.

Does a connection mean my child was using that service?

Not necessarily. Apps and websites can make connections in the background or load content from other services. Easy Family Filter works from the internet requests it receives, so it cannot prove who made a connection or what they did. An observation offers context for a question, not a conclusion about your child.

What is DNS filtering?

DNS filtering checks the website or service a device is trying to reach and applies your family’s rules before the connection is made. It can block unwanted destinations and record limited domain-level context without reading the content inside websites or apps.

Does protection work away from home?

Yes. Easy Family Filter is configured on each supported device, so protection can continue on mobile data and other Wi-Fi networks—not only on your home router.

Do I need to install an app?

No. Android uses its built-in Private DNS setting, while iPhone and Mac use a guided configuration profile. Most devices can be added in under five minutes.

Can Easy Family Filter read messages or see everything my child views?

No. It sees domain-level internet requests that reach the service. It does not read messages, posts, page content, search terms, or activity inside an app, and it does not measure screen time.

What happens if a device stops checking in?

Easy Family Filter can notice when a normally active device unexpectedly stops checking in—something many internet filters leave invisible. The device may be off, disconnected, or have changed filtering settings, including intentionally. We show you when the change occurred and whether it differs from the device’s normal pattern, giving you an early opportunity to check protection and have a calm conversation without pretending the data proves why it happened.

Can each device have different rules?

Yes. Start with family-wide Safe Search, category, and website rules, then give a particular device different settings when there is a good reason.

What if both parents want to manage Easy Family Filter?

That’s exactly what Household Access is for. Invite your co-parent and they’ll get their own login with access to your shared family dashboard. Both parents can manage devices and settings together, while billing remains visible only to the primary account owner.

How much does Easy Family Filter cost?

Easy Family Filter is $19.95 per month for one household plan, with no per-device pricing.
